Social Impact Adventures, LLC (SIA)  strives to educate people about microfinance by providing them with first-hand knowledge of microfinance successes in developing nations. SIA offers microfinance tours as well as customized trips for organizations and groups. SIA was founded in 2008 by two idealistic entrepreneurs with backgrounds in microfinance and a passion for travel. Building on many years experience organizing trips for investors, donors and others interested in seeing development programs first-hand.

Our Team

Christina Jennings, Co-Founder

Christina Jennings has more than ten years experience managing microfinance and community investment funds in the US and Central America and has been organizing and leading microfinance investor trips to the region since 2000. Christina was born in Turkey and has also lived in Cyprus and Nicaragua. She has traveled extensively in Latin America and Western and Central Europe. She currently lives in Minneapolis where she is the head of a national community development loan fund.

Jeremy Turpen, Co-Founder

Jeremy Turpen’s background involves years of experience producing high-level educational conferences on sustainable investing and microfinance. He brings SIA a rare combination of relationship management skills and coordination expertise. An expert networker, Jeremy prides himself in his contacts, colleagues, and friends he’s made along the way.
